Facilities

Facilities enjoyed by our guests include the following:

Two Loft Beds - Our cottages each have two loft beds which are ideal for older children or teenagers. The loft beds are wide, at 3/4 size in width but a little shorter than a standard bed, at about 1.8m. The loft beds are about 2.5m above ground and only accessible by a wooden ladder, and as such they are not suitable for very young children. We can supply air mattresses if you have young children who'd prefer to sleep on the floor.

Linen  and Towels Supplied - The rooms are made up with freshly laundered linen and towels before guests arrive.

En-suite Bathroom with Shower - Each cottage has an en-suite bathroom featuring a shower, hand basin and toilet. Hot water in the bathroom and kitchen is supplied by gas geyser.

Two Plate Gas Cooker - The kitchenette has a two plate gas cooker with electronic ignition.

Bar Fridge with Icebox - Keep your meats, drinks and dairy products chilled.

Electric Toaster - Two slice electric toaster.

Cutlery and Crockery - Four place settings of cups, dinner plates, side plates and bowls. Four place settings of knives, forks, spoons and teaspoons. For your convenience, you'll also find a kettle, cooking pot, frying pan, salad bowl, mixing bowl, whisk, wooden spoon, can opener, bottle opener, cork screw and a utility/bread knife.

Outdoor Braai - Most of our guests find the setting ideal for enjoying a braai for lunch or dinner, a braai grid and tools are available on request.

Braai/Fire wood -  Firewood is available on request at market related prices. You are welcome to bring your own wood if you have a favourite!

Picnic Tables & Benches - Each cottage has a large outside picnic table where most meals will be enjoyed. There is a smaller table inside the cottage which can be used during periods of inclement weather.

Outdoor Chairs - Each cottage has two outdoor all-weather chairs which you can use in and around the cottages for your comfort.

Only 6 km from Shops and Banks - The Wild Olive is close to the town of Wellington with its wide selection of banks, shops chemists and garages for your convenience. The major shopping centers of Cape Gate, Tygerberg and Canal Walk are all within a 40 minute drive of Wellington. 

Please Note: The Wild Olive is surrounded by virgin mountain territory, the stream and other natural hazards could put your children at risk. As such children should be kept under parental supervision at all times. Please ask if you require help or advice in identifying or managing these risks.
