Introduction

Only an hour's drive from Cape Town, the picturesque town of Wellington in the Western Cape Province of South Africa, lies nestled in a valley surrounded by majestic mountain ranges and beautiful vineyards.

Situated on a farm at the foot of the historic Bain’s Kloof mountain pass, 6km from Wellington, The Wild Olive self-catering cottages provide direct walking and cycling access to the Hawequa mountain range on which they lie.

The cottages are surrounded by the Cape's famous fynbos to the north, (protea, restio, buchu, erica etc.) and landscaped gardens and a perennial mountain stream to the South.

In the warm summer months they are shaded by a grove of wild olive trees, many hundreds of years old. In the winter months the surrounding mountains are sometimes covered in snow.

The cottages provide the ultimate hide-away, whether you’'re simply looking for an overnight stop, or a week or more of family holiday fun! You'll find they serve as a perfect base from which to explore the many walks of the Limietberg Nature Reserve, the surrounding wine routes and local historical sites of interest.

We also encourage our guests to just simply relax and unwind with family and friends, a good book, or a picnic on the lawns beside the stream.
